Tomorrow Northcote

Northcote

Redefining Sustainable Living

Tomorrow Northcote is a multi-residential apartment development located on St Georges Road in Melbourne’s inner northern suburb of Northcote. The project delivers a contemporary urban living environment, combining strong sustainability outcomes with adaptable apartment design.

MAP Architects were engaged to refine and deliver the project following planning approval, enhancing performance, livability and long-term functionality while maintaining alignment with the original development vision.

The result is a future-focused residential building that responds to its evolving urban context while supporting everyday living.

Our role

MAP Architects led the design refinement, documentation and delivery of the project.

Working within an approved scheme, the design was carefully reworked to improve apartment efficiency, internal amenity and construction outcomes. Our scope included architectural detailing, material refinement and coordination through to completion.

The project demonstrates MAP Architects’ expertise in multi-residential redesign and delivery, strengthening approved developments through considered architectural resolution.

Collaboration

Delivered in collaboration with the developer and consultant team, Tomorrow Northcote reflects a shared commitment to design quality and sustainability.

The project was completed within a highly competitive residential market, with strong demand for well-designed, energy-efficient housing in Melbourne’s inner north.

Close coordination between all stakeholders ensured the project was delivered as a cohesive and high-performing residential outcome.

Design approach

The design focuses on flexibility, sustainability and long-term performance, creating apartments that can adapt to changing resident needs.

A mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments are arranged to maximise natural light, ventilation and connection to outdoor spaces, with generous balconies extending the living environment.

Sustainability is central to the project, with a 7.5-star NatHERS rating, achieved through passive solar design, high-performance insulation and double-glazed openings that reduce energy consumption while enhancing comfort.

Materiality and interior design are deliberately restrained, with a warm palette of stone and timber creating a calm and adaptable living environment. Landscaping is integrated throughout the development, softening the building form and strengthening its relationship to the surrounding neighbourhood.
